Terms of Service

1. The Service

Zentra VPN lets you route your Mac's internet traffic through an encrypted IKEv2 connection to one of our VPN servers. This hides your IP address from the sites you visit and protects your traffic on the networks you use. The App also includes a speed test, favorites, menu bar controls and related features.

Zentra VPN 1.0 is provided free of charge. We may add, change or remove features, server locations or capacity at any time, for example to keep the Service reliable, secure and sustainable.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Laws on VPN use differ between countries. You are responsible for making sure that using a VPN is legal where you are.

3. Licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the App on Mac computers you own or control, in line with these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. The App is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by us.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. You must not use the Service to:

• break any applicable law or regulation, or help anyone else do so;
• infringe copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights, including through unauthorised file sharing;
• send spam or unsolicited messages, or run phishing or fraud schemes;
• distribute malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, network or account;
• launch denial-of-service attacks, port scans or other attacks, or interfere with the Service or its servers;
• harass, threaten or exploit anyone, or share any material that sexually exploits minors;
• resell, rent or share access to the Service, or extract and use our server connection details outside the App;
• use the Service in a way that places an unreasonable load on our servers or degrades it for other users.

You also agree not to copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the App, except where the law expressly allows it.

5. Fair use and availability

We work hard to keep the Service fast and available, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, available in every country, or that a particular server or speed will always be available. We may temporarily limit bandwidth or connections, or perform maintenance, to protect the Service for everyone.

6. Paid features and subscriptions

The App is currently free. If we offer optional paid features or subscriptions in the future:

• prices and what's included will be shown clearly in the App before you buy;
• payments will be processed by Apple through your Apple Account, and we will never see your payment details;
• subscriptions will renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings;
• refunds will be handled by Apple under its policies.

7. Privacy

We don't require an account and we don't log your browsing activity. Our Privacy Policy explains what the App processes and why, and forms part of these Terms.

8. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services, such as Google Firebase, ipwho.is and Cloudflare's speed test, and on Apple's macOS networking features. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party websites or content you access through the Service.

9. Intellectual property

The App, the Zentra VPN name and logo, and all related designs, text and software are owned by KN Apps Studio or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms gives you the right to use our name, logo or branding.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

A VPN improves your privacy but is not a complete security solution. It does not make you anonymous, and it does not protect you from malware, phishing, unsafe downloads or websites that identify you when you sign in or through cookies.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KN Apps Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to INR 1,000 (or the equivalent in your currency), or the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KN Apps Studio from any claims, losses or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms or of any law.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by disconnecting and deleting the App. We may suspend or end your access to the Service, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms or are putting the Service or other users at risk, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 9 to 15 continue to apply after termination.

14. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:

• these Terms are between you and KN Apps Studio only, not Apple, and KN Apps Studio (not Apple) is solely responsible for the App and its content;
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App;
• if the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App;
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims;
• you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India, unless the consumer laws of your country give you the right to bring proceedings where you live.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the App. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
